Today while driving to one of the ECD centres NEA is involved in I passed this beautiful flower. Almost not noticing it between all the rubble…This just made me think about the following:
“Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a
listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all
of which have the potential to turn a life around.”
― Leo Buscaglia
I could have so easily missed this opportunity to see this special flower blooming and just waiting to be noticed by someone. Then I realised that this is the reality with so many children. They are just waiting for the opportunity to develop, be loved and cared for, to turn their life into something. And just like missing this flower could have happened so easily we sometimes miss the opportunity to invest in the lives of these children…
And for me missing this flower would have meant that I did not learn this important lesson today and my life would have been emptier. So many times this is the same when we miss opportunities to invest in the lives of other, we end up missing out on such valuable lessons and moments!!
Let us notice opportunities every day to invest in people and help turn their lives around!!
